Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, situated at an altitude of 4,632 meters (15,197 feet) in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India, is a revered Sikh pilgrimage site. It is dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru, and is believed to be the place where he meditated in a previous life. The gurudwara is nestled beside the serene Hemkund Lake, which is surrounded by seven snow-capped peaks. The reflection of these peaks in the pristine waters of the lake adds to the site’s breathtaking beauty.

Accessing Hemkund Sahib requires a challenging trek of approximately 19 kilometers from the base camp at Govindghat, offering trekkers stunning views of the Himalayan landscape along the way.The gurudwara is open to visitors from late June to early October, as the region is covered in snow for the rest of the year, making travel difficult. Visitors are welcomed with the traditional Sikh practice of langar, a free meal provided to all, reflecting the Sikh values of service and community.
