Day 01: Arrive Delhi

Arrive at New Delhiโ€™s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Delhi – the capital of India โ€“ The city consists of two parts – Old & New Delhi. Old Delhi was the capital of Muslim India between 17th and 19th century and has many mosques, monuments and forts. New Delhi, the imperial city was created by the British as the capital of India. In 1911, Edwin Lutyens, the most renowned English architect of the day, was chosen to design New Delhi which flaunts a surprising number of impressive monuments related to its conquests by the Mughals, Turks, Persians and ultimately the British.

Day 02: Delhi โ€“ Jaipur

The Shah Jahan Tour is DelhiByCycleโ€™s classic recipe for an exhilarating glimpse into the life and times of the great Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan and the 1500 acre expanse of his capital – Shahjahanabad.

Shah Jahan Tour: Today, pass through its four hundred year old web of alleys held together with great big meshes of electric cables and infused with the smell of brewing tea and simmering breakfast curry, experience a mind boggling co-existence of the past and the future. Emerging from this rainforest, thick with traditional architecture- typical of Shah Jahanโ€™s time, witness Delhi of another time witnessing the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, the Spice Market and tranquil Civil Lines, the former British colonial area as a sharp contrast to hectic Old Delhi.

Later, transfer from Delhi to Jaipur by road covering an approximate distance of 265kms/6 hours. Arrive at Jaipur and check-in at the hotel.

Day 03: Jaipur-Sirisi-Boraj (Cycle approx. 30 Km, Drive approx. 30 Km)

Departing through the outlying settlements of Jaipur, guests commence the bike section of the trip. Instruction and bike adjustment will take place at this point of time. Progress along the Boraj road, one of the quieter veins leading out of Jaipur.

This twists through small farming settlements, where the guests are provided endless entertainment to the villagers who are intrigued at the notion of westerners riding bikes through India. By lunch, one arrive at Boraj and enjoy a lunch at Boraj Fort. After lunch, drive to the hotel at Pachewar; in a true rural setting.

Day 04: Pachewar-Roopangarh (Cycle approx. 30 Km)

The guests continue the cycle on quiet country roads through numbers of interesting to the dramatic landscapes and salt pans (Sambhar Salt Lake) and spend the overnight at the hotel.

Day 05: Roopangarh-Pushkar (Cycle approx. 30 Km)

Todayโ€™s ride takes the guests on back road which wind through interesting small villages to reach Pushkar and itโ€™s famous for Pushkar fair, Temples (Brahma Temple), fairs and bathing Ghats.

Day 06: Pushkar- Rass- Nimaj
(Cycle approx. 35 Km: Lunch Stop: Further Cycle 25 Km)

Ride further to Rass Village en-route driving through the fertile irrigated fields and also get chance to see real rural life of that region stop for drinks on the way before village and walk through local market and visit a small house to see real life style and after lunch ride to Nimaj.

Day 07: Nimaj – Khejarla (Cycle approx. 50 Km)
Continue the ride to Khejarla with some short drink breaks and the guests will have the light pack lunch on the way under a tree shade/ temple campus. En-route one will also get chance to see wild life i.e. blue bulls (Neel Gaai), desert foxes.

Day 08: Khejarla โ€“ Chandelao (Cycle approx. 30 Km)
After village visit, en-route pass through Bishnoi houses and see the life style of Bishnoi Tribe peoples (Bishnoi Tribes: Bishnoi is a social group found in the Western Thar Desert of India, the desert overlaps areas of Punjab and Sindh in Pakistan.

The name is derived from bis (twenty) and nai (nine) i.e. followers of 29 principles. These include a ban on killing animals and felling green trees, and providing protection to all life forms.)

Day 09: Chandelao-Jodhpur (Cycle approx. 40 Km)
After Breakfast set out for cycle within the fort, the guests will visit a NGO just outside the fort run by local women who mostly work on textiles and continue the cycle ride towards Jodhpur till city starts.

Day 10: Depart Jodhpur
Transfer to Jodhpur airport for flight to onward destination.

Weather and Clothing:

  • It will be hot and dry, with daytime temperatures up to 32 degrees centigrade.
  • Sun cream is very strongly recommended.
  • Head and eye protection are also essential.
  • A light windproof/fleece might be needed in the evenings when visiting hill stations and for early morning descents.
  • Ladies should cover their legs and shoulders when not cycling (a beach wrap is ideal for this; knee-length shorts are also useful).

ย Key Information:

  • The above programme is feasible for a group of minimum 02 Pax and maximum 10 Pax.
  • Even if we have single guest, there would be A tour guide on Bicycle leading, another helperย followingย the guest and a support vehicle following the complete group with standby bicycle, at any point of time if any of the guest want to stop cycling he/she can very well sit in the support vehicle and can finish rest of the tour with the other members.
